Derry Borough with the assistance of Derry Area Recreation Board has created an improvement site plan of 2nd Ward Playground to benefit the children in our local community located on the corner of East Second Avenue and South Ligonier Street.

Due to the Borough's limited budget, a committee of DARB is creating a campaign of fund raisers to raise money to complete the 2007-2008 2nd Ward Playground Project. Derry BoroughCouncil has budgeted $10,000 for 2007 and $10,000 for 2008 towards the project in the General Fund Budget.

The 2nd Ward Playground committee is relying on fundraisers through DARB to cover the remaining expense, which is approximately 80% of our cost estimate. The committee members are planning a residential and business mail out campaign, a holiday ticket sale for 2008, an upcoming Halloween Bash on October 20, 2007, a fishing tournament at Lake Ethel during Spring 2008, and local Foundation contributions. We have enclosed a copy of the site plan developed for this project with an estimated budget of project costs.
